Salary Range: $65,499-$88,236
Summary:
A School Psychologist is sought to join the educational team, focused on addressing the psychological and educational needs of students to maximize their academic and social-emotional development. This role involves conducting comprehensive assessments, providing consultation services, and offering short-term counseling to support students and the educational community.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Conduct detailed assessments of students' psychological and educational needs, involving the collection of various histories, test administration and interpretation, and collaboration with parents and school personnel.
Monitor and arrange for out-of-district placements for exceptional students as required.
Implement district policies and guidelines relating to special education and maintain confidentiality.
Represent the district in meetings regarding psychological services and services for exceptional children.
Offer consultation services to school personnel and community members to support student success.
Provide short-term counseling focused on students' learning and social-emotional adjustments.
Participate in the evaluation of special education staff and contribute to extracurricular assignments as needed.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate must possess the ability to fulfill each essential duty satisfactorily, demonstrating comprehensive knowledge and skills in educational psychology.
Education and/or Experience:
A Masters degree in Psychology or a related field, with extensive experience in educational settings, is required.
Certification as an Arizona School Psychologist/Teacher is necessary.
Skills:
Proficiency in reading, analyzing, and interpreting complex documents, along with effective report writing and presentation skills.
Mathematical skills for handling data analysis and interpretation.
Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to interpret a wide range of instructions.
