Chief Engineer - The Villas at Seven Canyons (Sedona, AZ)

The Villas at Seven Canyons, a premier HOA property located in beautiful Sedona, Arizona is looking for a Chief Engineer. The Chief Engineer reports directly to the General Manager and will oversee maintenance and repair of facilities, structures and grounds; key responsibilities may include conducting site surveys, preparing job estimates, and supervising and training employees.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Hires supervises, and trains employees who maintain buildings and grounds.
  • Oversees the day-to-day workflow, scheduling, and assignments of the department.
  • Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
  • Handles discipline and termination of employees as needed and in accordance with company policy.
Job Duties:
  • Drafts and implements routine maintenance schedules and standards; ensures compliance with these standards.
  • Collaborates regularly with the General Manager to identify renovation.
  • Prepares job estimates and bids for projects to be completed by outside contractors.
  • Inspects and oversees work performed by outside contractors.
  • Prepares the departmental budget; reviews monthly financial reports for compliance with budget.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Manage the engineering supplies and ordering as necessary.
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate when appropriate.
  • Proficient in computer skills including property management systems as needed to maintain reports, records, and budgets.
  • Prepare and oversee annual preventative maintenance on Villas.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in related field required.
  • At least five years of related experience in building maintenance or construction required.
Physical Requirements:
  • Daily inspection of buildings and grounds, managing daily repairs and maintenance.
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to access and inspect areas of buildings and grounds.
